A Hardwood floor is a natural product, and it is not indestructible. It's best to evaluate the wear on a floor before it is installed. Large dogs whose nails will scratch the floor, and small children, and high heels can all cause damage. Doug Robinson, of Certified Carpet Distributors, Inc. (distributors of carpet, hardwood, ceramic, and vinyl flooring materials) also explains "picture framing" -- the discoloration that can occur under an are rug or piece of furniture in an area exposed to a lot of sunlight. Learn how you can prevent damage to your hardwood floor.
