NYC Carriage Horse Drinks Disgusting Contaminated Water That He Is Forced To Stand In

This poor carriage horse wants a drink of water so badly that he has resorted to drinking the disgusting, contaminated, filthy water that he has no choice but to stand in. The water trough that is supposed to provide him with fresh drinking water is dry and filled with garbage. These horses are denied access to fresh water during their 9 hour shift. Then they must trudge back to their decrepit stable and as we have seen at West Side Livery most of the water troughs there are empty as well.
As soon as the animal abuser, er, carriage driver saw me filming he intervened to stop the horse from drinking the contaminated water.
Please contact Mayor Bloomberg and tell him you will not visit NYC until he gets the horses off of the streets.

just because it was drinking dirty water dosnt make it abused. My dogs have plenty of clean water available but when I take them on walks they looove to drink dirty water. I dont know why, its an animal thing.

Horrible. This, however, is a day in the life of a New York City carriage horse. The city --which is supposed to be responsible for oversight and monitoring of this industry--could not care less if a horse has water or not. It is too bad that tourists don't know the truth about how these horses live and die.
