Day 637 - My Paleo Diet

I call it "My Paleo Diet" because this is my interpretation. Mine's a VERY low-carb approach designed for weight loss. Fruits and non-starchy vege's are encouraged, which I will enjoy in time. As are nuts and seeds. Dairy's up for debate. Some of the Paleo Community frowns upon it while others consume it in moderation. The great thing about Paleo is that it's up to you decide what works for you, there is no dogma. There's also part of me that loves the fact that it spits in the face of conventional wisdom. I don't care what the "experts" say, I care what the science says, and science is on our side.

**I'm sorry for all the annotations but my videos aren't scripted and sometimes I forget to add some important information.**

But don't take my word for it, think for yourself.

I will never, never, never go the vegan route.

    Thanks for the comment though.

You felt drained because you didn't heed the advice of those who've adapted the diet for athletes. Rather than simply discounting the entire diet and hopping back on the gluten bandwagon why not simply add in some starchy sides before/following intense bouts of exercise?

You should read Gary Taubes' work before fully buying into the law of thermodynamics as it applies to human nutrition, I think your eyes will be opened.

    Thanks for the comment though!

  • @iconerror I think the carbs in vegetables make him want more sugar, so that's why he supplements with the fiber.

  • The foods you showed at the end all look like a high protein atkin's based diet. You need fiber man! FIBER!

  • Very Cool Video. I watched the whole thing. I have been falling off the wagon between a 20 to 29 lb loss for 2011. Im so sick of tetering the same numbers. On and off the wagon.. especially the last 6 months. Back to my ketogenic ways full on. I think 2 meals and upping my eggs is going to be the key for me. I may slip in an atkins shake between my 2 brunch and dinner meals. You should make an omelet cookbook. Its an easy way to add fiber in. :D

  • @TheUnbreakableOne Go search on articles related to Steve Jobs death and how his vegan Dr. Dean Ornish diet may have encourage his demise.

  • @ProfDeth High carb and processed food diets suppresses your immune system. Your paleo diet cured that.

  • @ProfDeth Your burning calories just by being alive. Heart pumping, lungs breathing, all burn calories. The Paleo diet helps that because of lower insulin levels due to the diet.

  • @fremontgal1 Channel 5 News Dr. Kim here in the San Francisco Bay Area tried it under clinical conditions. It's even better than the Middle Eastern diet which has carbs in it. A diabetic lady on the show even reduced here diabetic medications from ten to two after going on the Paleo Diet.

  • @moxohol It's also addictive and makes you constantly thirsty. Coca Cola for example.

  • @petrus4 There's several articles on the net about why Steve Jobs who had a benign form of pancreatic cancer and was type O blood help worsen his condition by following the Dean Ornish high carb vegan diet. I read that only type A blood types are more successful at vegan diets. Plus, high insulin levels which Steve Job's vegan diet encouraged was a big feeding fest for his cancer cells.

  • If you want a tastier drink then Almond milk maybe a good option. There's also a dark chocolate version. Dark chocolate I read is a healthier less refined chocolate. Plus you don't have to drink a lot of it. I find that in the paleo diet your less thirsty and don't have any addictive cravings to any food you eat or drink.
