UMvC3 - Frank West instant Level 5 with Haggar

Although probably not quite the BFF status of Dante + Frank, it seems like there is definitely some merit to teaming up Haggar + Frank, as when Haggar is in play he has the ability to get Frank to level 5 instantly at the cost of 1 super meter + 1 lariat assist (100k of red life). Dante + Frank THC costs 2-3 meters, so this has to be one of the cheapest guaranteed methods to leveling Frank! (TAC's are obviously not guaranteed)

To do this, Haggar must land a Rapid Fire Fist on a grounded opponent. Juggles will not work, because you must connect with a fully powered up Rapid Fire Fist, and then mash during the super to increase the number of hits from 30 to 45. So keep mashing up to 43 hits, and then as the super is ending, start holding the assist button for Frank to raw tag him in as soon as the super ends and Haggar finishes with the ground bounce. After Frank comes in, press that same assist button again to call Haggar Lariat assist, and do an immediate qcf+S for the first camera shot (will get Frank up to Level 3). After the 3rd hit of lariat, launch them with S and do a basic air combo (M M H S works fine, M H S works too if you don't want to risk them popping out between the M hits, as it's very possible with the hitstun deterioration. You can probably do something slightly fancier but I'm just going for simple practicality here). When you land from the air combo, do another qcf+S for the 54-55 points needed to take Frank past the 100 mark and Level 5. Cha-ching!

Cancelling the second qcf+S into either of his supers isn't necessary, but obviously it's some extra damage if you have the meter to spare. DHC'ing to Haggar's Body Splash super after the last hit of Survival Techniques works great too if for some reason you want to get Haggar back in instead of using the level 5 Frank you worked so hard (not really) to level up.

Other assists may work in place of Lariat if you don't want to spend that 100k of Haggar's life. Shown here is Chun's lightning legs assist, which is kinda overkill since you only need an assist that hits 3 times for the second camera shot. There should be quite a few other assists that should work fine for this purpose. Experiment!

Not pictured: You can actually avoid the air combo altogether if you combo into Rapid Fire Fist. You need to get a minimum of 2 hits before the RFF, a simple crouching L M chain works great. In this case you would do cr. L cr. M xx Rapid Fire Fist, hard tag to Frank, call Haggar lariat, qcf + S (48PP), and then qcf + S again (52 PP) after the third hit of Lariat, taking you to exactly 100 PP and Level 5. But there's not really much point in doing this anyway since you get more damage and meter by launching into air combo...

Bonus easy Haggar-Frank-Chun combo just for the hell of it: hcb+L, OTG cr. H + Frank assist, f + H xx dp+L, sj. M M H d+H, dp + L, sj M H u+H xx qcf+S, OTG cr. H + Chun assist, f + H xx dp+L, sj. H u+H S, OTG Level 3 THC. The super jump into Back Drop at the end is a silly reset that probably won't be landed because a lot of characters will be dead already, or they'll mash buttons and hit you before you grab them, or they'll flip forward or air dash/fly or whatever. But it sure looks cool! Again, I'm well aware that Haggar could get more damage doing something like his "headbutt loop" at the beginning, but again... practicality. It's just here for the concept because I kinda like this team right now (although I'm not completely sold on the viability of Chun, I have to step my execution up on her harder combos...)

As someone who mains a team with both Haggar and Frank West, thank you for showing this off. It's made leveling up with Frank so much easier. Although sometimes I don't get nearly as many hits off of Rapid Fire Fist, at minimum the combo jumps Frank up to Level 3, which pushes him from good close combat character to one of the better attackers in the game.

How do you get that many hits off the super? The most I can get is like 35 by mashing like crazy with both hands!! O_o

i agree, i hate dante as a character, just can't play him or get into his style, more of a Magneto/Wesker guy myself.
