On the subject of capital punishment. Society has a right to protect itself but not a right to be vengeful.

  • One doesn't have to think the Torah is right or G-d given to live a Jewishly ethical life. It doesn't require belief.

  • @DFD737 The title of the song (a Jewish prayer, actually) is "Hashkivienu" -- one of a number of melodies with that title. This arrangement is by Max Helfman. The Cantor (vocalist) is played by Ellen Sugarman (who does not appear to ever played any other acting role). The song shows up again (without lyrics) at the end of the episode in the the Karl Malden scene. Who actually performed the song? ... good question.

  • Does anyone know the title of the song she is singing

  • @mh605 It's from The West Wing tv series.

  • what kind of music is she singing here and at the end of this episode?

  • Rabbi Glassman: I think this Torah is completely wrong, clearly not G-d given. The only real question on anyones mind should be why am I wearing this Yarmulke!?

  • @mh605 The West Wing

  • What show or movie is this from?
