Timelapse of the Jesusita Fire taken from the roof of my house near 154 and Calle Real in Santa Barbara. The fire started on the 5th and was pretty small this morning after a calm night, but in the early afternoon the winds picked up and it expanded rapidly. The evacuation warning zone came within a few blocks of our place, so my roommates and I came home from UCSB to pack some things up just in case it expanded toward us. Currently, though, it seems to be moving mostly toward the south east. In the video, you might catch a few glimpses of helicopters doing water drops. They were working really hard to save a number of houses that are visible in the video at certain points. 30x speedup.
