The recent weekend saw Copenhagen really moving. CPHmoves 2009 kicked off Friday the 28th of August with 800 3rd grade children from Nørrebro engaging in all kinds of different sports. In the afternoon Israels Plads in the heart of Copenhagen got ready for dancing, street basketball and DJs providing the perfect street-like atmosphere. Saturday was dominated by the annual Sensational Street Soccer tournament for women only, American Football, Street Yoga, Munin Cage Soccer not forgetting the exciting Street Handball event. Sunday was family day – almost a whole Copenhagen quarter was closed to traffic due to soapbox car race where families were encouraged to build their own car and race against each over a distance of 3 km. CPHmoves is arranged by the municipality of Copenhagen with hummel and other brands acting as co-supporters.
