原是首鄉村歌曲，因為被電影「情比姊妹深」選為主題曲，而再度受到歡迎；歌詞內容不著墨於兩人情感的繾卷或是苦悶，反而表現出彼此成全的成熟情意。今天演唱的合唱版本比原­來的樂曲更為精簡，由羅傑艾莫森（Roger Emerson）編寫，他是現今美國著名的合唱作曲家及教育家，編寫了許多膾炙人口的通俗音樂和電影配樂的合唱曲。

此樂曲每一句旋律的設計，都採用相似的節奏型，產生全曲統合感，並且巧妙地運用和聲、音域與力度的變化來烘托歌詞的意境，而情感也隨著音樂的律動不斷地翻騰。
