Search Engine Marketing (SEM) refers to your complete - overall - online marketing strategy.

For a lot of companies, this will include PPC (pay-per-click), SEO (Search Engine Optimization - getting your website to come up on the front page of Google), business listings and a whole lot more.

A recent report came out that showed that 92.4% of all searches result on someone clicking on the first page of Google...What this means is that you need to be on the front page of google...you need to be there WHENEVER someone is searching for your product/service.
