  • Truly inspiring video.

  • I don't care what color you are, your sex, or your age, all I care about is what character you have, how you act and what your principals are.

  • Profound discussion. I knew you were going to say "Coltrane" before it was said. What an incredible cosmic influence he is and the Europeans appreciate the contribution of Coltrane and other American musicians who happened to be black more than we do here. And you're right, music transcends "race." On the other hand, people need to appreciate the profound historic world contribution of black Americans to music particularly in bop. You guys give me hope for America.

  • I commented on the AV Club article but this is absolutely fantastic. What a fantastic discussion, spurred a lot of compelling thoughts. Great, great job.

  • Went to Fishbone show last night. So, if there's a "black rock", then Angelo is its impersonation, because as he noted, "I know y'all're scared, just by the way y'all's lookin at us!"

Aside from that, music is music, but it's important to point out blacks in rock, because peoples' stereotypes still lead them to think you're in a hip hop band when you announce you're in a band. (You, not me, as I am neither in a band, or black)
