@squodge Total agreement - it still remains the finest version in my opinion.

for graphics wipeout 3 is better than 2097 but like gameplay 2097 is slightly better
for me wipeout 3: vote 10 and 2097 9,5

@jameshighlife i tell ya, XL was just sooo perfect. imagine playing HD with XL's physics.... damn, i'd cum at every corner o.o

@monkeypoo1993 I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! I've been saying this for years!!! Why did studio liverpool screw it up SO BAD! I doubt anyone who works for LiverPool ever played XL for more than a few minutes. Really, there's not a single sci fi racing game out there that compares to the sic physics, tight control, and futuristic aura that Wipeout XL (2097) had. Someone should email Studio Liverpool or start a petition.

WipEout 2097 Auricom ship looks much better than any other versions of Auricom.

@squodge seriously dude, it was SUCH A PERFECT FORMULA that was started for racing physics back in XL. i wish they could go back to those physics in wipeout games today!

Yes, you are right, back then the ships seemed they were really flying low, and you had to control pitch very often, otherwise the front of the ship would hit the floor and slow you down. Going round corners also felt different, especially in 1st person view :)
Nowadays the ships seem to be "bolted" to the floor, no feeling of flying at all, you just have to use left or right to steer the ships, and sliding using air-brakes also felt cooler then!! :(

in terms of graphics, yes, wipeout 3 is best, but i still prefer the soundtrack of the 2097/XL more :)

watch my vid theres a link to a working copy of wo2097, music works, if you have probs getting it to run on epsxe send me a message, also if anyone is intrested in linking up for 2 player let me know :P
wipEout 2097 was the best of the bunch of wipEout games... the physics was right, the wall scraping was excellent, the balance of weapons perfect, and all in the day of digital controls as well - no smooth movements like you have nowadays LOL.

What planet do you live on? You must not have played the first two when they first came out. The sense of speed, the music, the control etc. were all perfect in them. Suck "bals"? I dont know what a bal is but im sure neither suck one.
