It is just wrong ! There are too many rescue services out there that are dependant on donations. The Lifeboats, different Counties Air Ambulances, this is one thing with the election coming up that should change. These services should be supported by the government. The Police, Fire services and Ambulances are so why cant these

They do a terrific job, I'm 14 and I want to work for the RNLI not just because I love boats but because I think it's wrong that people should die! Me and my uncle were on his boat and we were snagged on a large rock and the waves were getting choppy and the RNLI came to help us :)
I'm not religious but.......Godbless them!

they rely on donations because they get no funding from the government. hope that helps :)

I have always been a big supporter of the RNLI, they do a fantastic job, but why do they rely on donations?

im a commercial fisherman from brighton and i know 80% of the shouts in june to august are a total waste of money- londoners run out of fuel on crusers, people with snagged anchors and overly eager lifeguards calling where no help is needed. all rubbish really and the funds goes on preventable situations and not on improving offshore rescue capability and new technology, it probally costs £300 to launch newhaven boat minimim. still i will continue to donate and hope i never have to use them!!
