Nick Laird-Clowes is Trashmonk. This video comes from his debut album, Mona Lisa Overdrive, on Creation Records then later Poptones. It is also the follow-up single to "Girl I Used 2 Know." He still remains the favorite pop icon of Alan McGee. The world is awaiting the follow-up album, reportedly complete and forthcoming. Nick first made it big in the 1970s bands Alfalpha then The Act. He is most fondly thought of as one third of The Dream Academy in the 1980s with their massive and culture changing "Life in a Northern Town", "The Love Parade", and "Twelve/Eight Angel."
Listen to Nick's latest song for free ("Mayday"). It was co-written in May 2009 with David Gilmour of Pink Floyd and was written for a Greenpeace documentary by Nick Broomfield about the Kingsnorth protesters. http://nicklairdclowes.com/
