@pooyaf I am not speaking of the song itself. Yes, it is beautiful and inspiring. I am talking about the way in which this song is being utilized.
The very regime that this anthem was specifically written against is using it as their own. It's a spit in the faces of those who died to protect what this song stood for. That is what I am calling 'disgusting and vile'. We can't stop the oppression of the Iranian people without recognizing the regime for what they truly are.

@prestoagitato2 I was born after the revolution and I am not familiar with the origins of this song but I know the song and can relate to it as an Iranian. I feel this song belongs to all Iranians and if it is used by future generations to inspire nationalism, hope and promotion of freedom then I don't think it would be wise to call it "disgusting, vile and horrible." Let's focus on the things we have in common and not on those that break us apart.

Mousavi has now used this song in his own campaigns. It is disgusting, vile, and horrible. I am in shock that something like this would happen and people would eat it up.

To psrjan whom asked about the origin,
it's been sung by Confederation of Students in USA before the revolution,
My parents were close friends to many of the singers, none of the performers are alive now, they either got killed in the revlution or died in the prisons of islamic republic under torure,
however its disgusting how someone has dared to mix a left wing song by the photos of reactionarys such as Shariati, beheshti and khatami.. disgraceful and disgusting.. pathetic...
