I'm guessing Merle's wife was not a Mormon. Otherwise they would have married at the Temple or whatever it is they call the Mormon Church.

Was Merrill the first of the performing Osmonds to get married at the age of 20?

Were Alan and Wayne married yet.. as I recall, no.

Merrill was the first of the singing brothers to marry in 1973. Alan was the second  and Wayne the 3rd. They both married in 1974.

12 gold records of mostly forgetable shlop purchased by teenage girls.most of the bands of that era Led Zep,the stones,CCR went on to become icons with their music still being played-can,t say the same for the osmonds.Maybe if their overbearing old man would have butted out the older boys mightr have went somewere instead of playing second bananna to Donny.They probably wished they were drafted and sent to veitnam
