At this concert at Tavern Club in Boston, MA, Louis Armstrong's delightful take on the Charleston dance was graced by the unexpected appearance of a genuine flapper, Nellie Taft. You can hear the uplift of the music, as well as see the delighted response of the band when Nellie steps forward. Featured are the two banjos of Dudley Taft, Nellie's brother, and Jimmy Mazzy, who sings a fine scat chorus, along with Bob Winter, piano, Bo Winiker, Trumpet, Ted Casher, clarinet, Herb Gardner, trombone, and Eli Newberger, tuba.
