Iqbal Bano presents a famous ghazal by Nizami Ganjavi (a.d 1141) who lived in Ganja in presnt day Azarbaijan during the Seljuq empire. He was the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature, who brought a colloquial and realistic style to the Persian epic.
The ghazal is by Qateel Dehlavi, not by Nizami nor Amir Khusrau. Qateel is also referred to in Iran as "Qateel-e Lahoori"

Ghazal is not by Nizami but by Amir Khusrow. Nizami wrote few ghazals which were very convoluted with difficult Sufi imagery. This one is by Khusrow.
