@054martinm No Itachi was using medicines to prolong his life so he can meet with sasuke again and eventually give him his powers he was already going to die even if he didn't fight sasuke and yes he did force him to use his power but that's because Itachi was weakened and he never wanted to kill sasuke

@054martinm Itachi was already letting the villages take care of the akatsuki because the leaf were slowly killin akatsuki like Hidan and Kakuzu they also killed pein. Sasuke took care of deidara also the leaf killed sasori. Madara killed Konan well really konan left the akatsuki after Nagato died but whatever the point is they were dieing off kisame killed himself by a suicide attempt to keep intel

@054martinm Because that is how the story goes and Itachi wanted to be known as the bad guy who destroyed the Uchiha clan and he wanted sasuke to keep hating him so he could eventually 'take him out' of the game with the thoughts that he's done the right thing

@Pokemon4ever92 exactly. if he didnt want to kill sasuke and was dying then why didnt he use the time he had left to take out as many akatsuki as he could rather than wasting his time with sasuke, whos unimportant to the grand chess game between madara and the kages.
