I think the narrator is Orson Welles, which is appropriate, since he produced the War of the Worlds radio drama that caused a nationwide panic.

Sorry, its Paul Frees who WAS in George Pal's "War of the Worlds" MOVIE in 1953. Is that good enough? ;-) LOVE that movie! MUCH better than the recent dreck they've passed for remakes, just like the terrible 'Day the Earth stood still' remake. (oh disclosure: I'm also Banyt! :-)

Bob Clampett was working on a John Carter animated film in the '40s between stints at Warner Bros, but it never got further than preliminary drawings.
