  • Reinforce the horse for keeping four feet still. You can't train a don't.

  • @gcoxalaska no im good

  • @nacomagenic check some of our clips at gcoxalaska

  • @nacomagenic Just make sure you are consistant and 'correct' a horse every time they do something wrong Every time. If you let him move once in awhile and only correct him once in awhile, THAT confuses them. If sitting on him and he walks forward just casually gather the reins and back him up 2-3 steps then Drop the reins. If he wants to Fidget a lot, pull his head to the side then reach back with your foot and kick his hip once, give him 3 strides to come to a stop or Thump him again!

  • @gcoxalaska oh ok thx this makes more sense now that u explained it

  • @nacomagenic

The theory is.. If the horse wants to move, we Make him move, a little further and a little faster than he thought he wanted to. Pretty soon, if we are consistant, he comes to believe that if he moves without being instructed he will be Told to move, further and faster than he wanted to. Soon enough he will stand... Just be consistant in your corrections..

  • Love the teqnique and I know nothing about u or that horse but that could confuse him running him in circles when he was doing nothing just my 2 cents reply if u want but that's just a mixed signal that the horse could be getting

  • thanks!!! i have been needing a video like this forever!!!!!!! this helps sooo much i just wanted to say thanks!!!

  • Thank you so much! My 5 yo TB used to move around heaps when I tried to mount even when somebody was holding onto him from the ground. After I saw your video I started applying these techniques and after about a week, I could get on with no hassles and it's stayed that way!

    Thank you so much!!

  • when you raise your hands and his head goes down at 3:00.... how did you teach him that process??
