This is a quick comparison of the Vintage Small Clone Chorus vs the Re-issue playing the first few notes and prechorus of Nirvana's "Come as you are" . The first played and the one pictured on the right of the pedal board is the original. It is warmer and seems to have less "worble" than the reissue. You can hear the difference straight away when the reissue is switched on straight after the original is turned off. I have turned the rate down a bit on the reissue to get the similar sound that the original has when the rate is at the 12 oclock position -(see pedal board on vid). There are only small visual differences with the LED light being smaller and a different dial on the original. I have 2 reissues and they both sound identical.

  • Jumpinhowlin: I brought the vinatge about 2 years BEFORE the reissue's came out so I guess my Guitar pedal "crystal ball" was not working. It is a much nicer and suble effect than the reissue and I was able to have 2 years enjoyment playing it before a reissue was ever made. Money well spent I say........

  • Yes=the right hand side one is the original, much more subtle and is warmer sounding than the reissue. I have 2 reissues and they both sound identical. The newest one has already some small rust on the face even though I look after them and keep them packed in the pedal board bag. The original goes back in the box after each time it is used- too special.

  • how can you tell the difference between a vintage and reissue?

i was looking around and found a few 'vintage' pedals but cant tell if it is or if im buying a reissue like the one i already got.

is there a colour difference or something? where can i get a vintage?

    oh by the way,

what are the settings that you have on the pedal and amp? =)

    thanks

    dan :P

  • @IDanClarkI Hi Dan, The rate knob on the vintage is a different shape-not rounded.

The vintage seems to age well, no rust on metal finish like both of my re-issues.

Will check-em both out and send more info rgds Gav

  • i have the reissue and its close but kinda sucks,

where did you get the vintage, and how much?

  • @stupidbuttheads -I brought mine from the USA around 1996 for $650USD. I will look for the invoice and post the store name. The vintage does sound warmer than the reissue. I am not so happy with my re-issue Poly Chorus and would love to find

an original of that one too. seeya Gav

  • Exactly like Kurt's guitar rig!!! Awesome !!!!!

  • @gavinpavlina Curious what you mean by the rate knob being a different shape (not rounded)? i also have both an original and a reissue, and as you probably noticed the reissue says full chorus, the original says mini chorus

  • so the vintage is the right oje? the non-glossy :3

  • Electro harmonix small clone

  • @Finisherdrummer3 it does my head in when people say that. its on every fucking video. you cant really say that because you never physically asked him. and i was saying, it would be good for comical purposes

  • @ricochetfuzzy that's probably not what Kurt would have wanted bro. It's about the music, that's it.

  • playing the king version :)
