Well I finally made a trip down the Kirkland Lake sub. Let me tell you, I've NEVER seen as many steep up hills, down hills, turns and S curves in a single stretch of track. I can now say that this subdivision is, in my opinion, the nicest location on the entire ONR system. Unfortunately, I didn't make it all the way to Rouyn, but this is a small taste of what this sub. has to offer. I will certainly be back here, especially with this awesome scenery, long trains, big power and friendly crews.

Location 1: Still on the Ramore sub, freight 308 rolls through Swastika

Location 2: Freight 211 just creeping through the east end (mile 6) of Kirkland Lake

Location 3: Rounding on of the many S curves with full dynamic brakes. Thanks to the crew for the great horn recognition, there isn't actually a W post at this crossing because it's an ATV trail. They usually don't blow the horn here.

Freight 211's power is: SD75I #2104, SD40-2 #1733 and SD40-2 # 1735

This train wasn't infinitely long, but lots of power is required to handle these grades.

Enjoy!
