American Idol 2009 Season 8 Top 36 Hollywood week Results Von Smith got through! Yes!!

Vaughn Lee "Von" Smith (born June 15, 1986) is an American singer who gained some success via his YouTube videos. These garnered him national attention, which led to an appearance on The View on 27 February 2007.Soon thereafter he was offered, and eventually signed, a recording contract with Kon Live Distribution.

He auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol, and has made it through to the Hollywood rounds.

Guys, he was my youtube friend way b4 he became a phenomenon, but i havent heard of him in a while, n i knew that he was trying to get in American Idol n all. he is homeschooled, n was personally trained by his mom. so he is not like everyone else. cut him some slack, he missed out on his childhood n teenage years. at least he got a good vocal out of it. now he needs to tone down the facial expression a bit n channel that ability better, n he'll be alrite. more vids coming!!

Everytime I hear this it gets better. What happened in Idol was the result of trying to shove a square peg in a round hole. Von keep doing what you're doing, you're great!

Amazing! I do hope that he does well on American Idol. What a range! Very talented. Danny Gokey doesn't have this range that Von has [I don't think?], but I love the sound of Danny's voice.
