  • Thank you for posting this

  • @starguard - your welcome

  • This is agood demonstration video watchnu2! It will be helpful to someone who has dug out their tyco trains after they have been stored for many years. And it is good that you emphasize the 500 grit rating a few times; apparantly you have found it will remove the oxidation without scratching the wheel tread.

  • @SpadXIIIFlyer - Your Welcome

  • @watchnu2 Thank you so much!

  • @SpadXIIIFlyer - Hi - sorry -they do not make new wheels or gears to turn the wheels but you can find non working engines for sell on ebay for parts cheap. Someone should make parts for old Tyco's as many people still have and run them but at this time no one does. You can try The TYCO Collectors Forum online - register - it;s free! and then post your quest for parts and someone may have what you are looking for - very friendly and relaxed atmosphere

  • i have a 0-8-0, and they made a dumb mistake. the drive wheels are in the tender, but thats not it, its the simple fact that the drive wheels are plastic, meaning that they wear down over time, i got mine at a old hobby store which it was brought back, and the wheels are so worn down i cant use it, is there any way i can get new wheels?

  • emery cloth sandpaper will not. You have to have 400 grit or higher to avoid damaging wheels of locomotives of any manufacturer. Coarse grits will scratch wheels surface. The fine grits polish

  • Excellent! Thanks for the tip.
