Namo Buddhaya,
If you are interested in learning Buddhism, then here is a simple step by step guide. Learn and Understand the theorems , Then practice. Studying Buddhism is probably the best thing you can do in your life because it teaches you to discover the highest happiness possible for a human to achieve. However "Oneself is the refuge for one" Attahi Attano Natho . Blind faith will not get you anywhere in Buddhism, But the true understanding. You got work to do for your happiness.
1) Get a Basic understanding
http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/study/index.html ( Beyond Coping )
Read " What Buddha Taught" by Walpola Rahula , http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/bodhi/waytoend.html (End Of suffering),
Books by Bhikkhu Bodhi are highly recommend
2) How I studied Buddhism :
Start listening to the Buddhist mp3s ( Specially Suttas ) When you commute( Or anytime you can) . Get an mp3 player or a phone, Download audio files from the provided links, transfer to your mp3 device, get some good headphones ( HD 202 ,ep630 ) , Start listening and understanding the theorems and its applications. Taking notes is encouraged. I listen average 2 hours Mon-Fri. This is the fastest way to study Dhamma. You got to think attentively & logically about what you learn. It took me around 6 months to get the basics.
3) Practice the materials you learnt. Simply be virtuous , develop concentration and wisdom by doing Samata, Vipassana, Metta loving Kindness meditations. Only you can purify your mind & achieve the highest happiness nibbana. There is work to be done by you. You can always reach monks or me for help. Try meditating at least 2hours a day total in morning and night.
