Too bad FDNY took over NYC*EMS, and now treat EMS like sh*t, FDNY EMS workers are second class citizens in the dept. EMS is now forced to work 16 hr shifts (called mandations) in an ambulance sitting on a street corner. EMS workers are NOT allowed into the fire stations and the firefighters HATE EMS personnel. If it's not on fire FDNY doesn't care about you or your "emergency" they could care less if your loved one is in cardiac arrest, its not a fire and therefore not their problem!!

I just sent this too my dad who is a deputy chief for FDNY EMS. I hope he likes it he's been on the job for a long time. And soon enough he will have a close relative on the job too, ME!
