Olympians - Zeus's Day Out. Zeus and Poseidon get tired of Mount Olympus and decided to go for a walk among the mortals only to come up on Hephaestus.

Zeus is the King of the Gods in Greek mythology. Zeus was viewed as a king who oversaw the universe. In Hesiod's Theogony, he assigns the various gods their roles. In the Homeric Hymns he is referred to as the chieftain of the gods. He is also called the "Father of Gods and men", according to Hesiod's Theogony. He ruled the Olympians of Mount Olympus in ways representative as both a father as head of the family and a king. He was the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology.

Poseidon (Greek: Ποσειδῶν; Latin: Neptūnus) was the god of the sea, storms, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of earthquakes in Greek mythology. He was also one of Zeus's brothers. The name of the sea-god Nethuns in Etruscan was adopted in Latin for Neptune in Roman mythology: both were sea gods analogous to Poseidon. Linear B tablets show that Poseidon was venerated at Pylos and Thebes in pre-Olympian Bronze Age Greece, but he was integrated into the Olympian gods as the brother of Zeus and Hades. Poseidon has many children. There is a Homeric hymn to Poseidon, who was the protector of many Hellenic cities, although he lost the contest for Athens to Athena.

Hephaestus (8 spellings; pronounced /həˈfɛstəs/ or /hɨˈfɛstəs/; Ancient Greek Ἥφαιστος Hēphaistos) was a Greek god whose Roman equivalent was Vulcan. He is the son of Zeus and Hera (the King and Queen of the Gods). He was the god of technology, blacksmiths, craftsmen, artisans, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes. Like other mythic smiths but unlike most other gods, Hephaestus was lame, which gave him a grotesque appearance in Greek eyes. He served as the blacksmith of the gods, and he was worshiped in the manufacturing and industrial centers of Greece, particularly in Athens. The center of his cult was in Lemnos.[1] Hephaestus's symbols are a smith's hammer, an anvil and a pair of tongs, although sometimes he is portrayed holding an axe.

  • how do you make your animations.im gonna start making some to and your animations are great so i wanted some advice on making them

  • @66greedo Thanks for the compliment. I usually draw the characters in photoshop, and divide them into different parts on different layer that I can move separately. Then I import them into After Effects where I can animate them. My first cartoons were really simple, with characters that mostly talked, and didn't move much. If you can use a program like photoshop, it can save a lot of time, but you can animate with most any program if you're willing to put the work into it.

  • why does the united nations building in new york have a statue of zeus ?

  • I think the whole 'Zeus heart cow' thing has something to do with Hera, his wife, right? Because the cow is her sacred animal.
