Black Saturday Victorian bushfires 2009 - Touch (Reach out)

February 7, 2009 Victoria is hit with the most devistating bushfires in Australian history.
Hundreds of homes have been completely destroyed, entire communities razed. Thousands of people have been left homeless. Hundreds of people, young and old alike have been killed and many are still missing. Pets and livestock have been killed. Hundreds of thousands of hectares of bushland have been incinerated and millions of native animals have been wiped out.

I'm not sure how, or if the land will ever return to its former glory.

The one thing this crisis has shown me is the generosity and compassion that we as a nation have. True mateship at its best. It makes me bloody proud to be an Australian!

***Note - I incorrectly listed the Noiseworks song as being titled 'Reach Out'. The correct title is 'Touch'. Sorry for any confusion it may have caused. I was meant to double check, but forgot as I'd only had about 7hrs sleep in 48hrs.

***Note - There's a glitch in the video from 1:39-1:43 (squares that pop up). I don't know why it's done this. It was supposed to cut from one scene to the next. The video works fine on the computer, the stuff up occured when I uploaded to YT.

SFB, YT's eating my replies to your earlier post. I watched Michael Paynter's performance again & he did bring a youthful quality to the song. Jon Stevens is & always will be my fav performer of 'Touch' though. Went through Paynter's YT channel & watched a few of his videos. Really love 'A Victim Song', watched it a doz times, it's my new fav of the month.

As a resident of Kinglake I would like to thank you for a wonderful tribute to the worst day of my life. I hope you don't mind that I'm downloading this video. Michael Paynter was the guy who sung 'Touch' at the memorial service. I think he did a wonderful job.
