  • Like you, Lee, I wasn't sold on "Dr. Otto." It had its moments, sure, but overall it wasn't that good.

His TV series "Hey Vern, It's Ernest" was great. And his characters Auntie Nelda, Dr. Otto and the Bucket-headed robot were in it, too. I wish that would come out on DVD.

  • There's a bootleg on a site called ioffer, but $23 for 13 episodes is just scummy.

There, I beat you all to it. Now knock it off.

  • Proof that a hero can ruin a movie.

    RIP Varney.

  • I think this guy is taking this WAYYYY to seriously.

  • i think the lead should have been earnest p worrell. Your right the hero guy should have died first and earnest had to take over. And in the end Dr. otto should have been earnest cousin or something. but for a limited budget independant sci fi film it's ok. I'd give it a passing c-. I like The Dr. otto from hey vern it's earnest myself.

  • If you're expecting an Ernest film you'll be severely disappointed, but if you're expecting JIm Varney this film is hilarious. As for the protagonist being annoying - that's the point he's an absolute coward, I found him very funny, but not intentionally. If you appreciate movies like this for what they are you will get a lot of entertainment out of it.

  • I own this movie on DVD. Very weird film, but I liked it. Mostly because I am a big fan of the Ernest films.

  • That's good. Thanks.

  • I saw it on amazon.

  • at 1:38 it's not a dick it a hand

  • Is Dr. Otto on DVD by any chance? (Just curious)

  • I disagree. CULT CLASSIC!!

  • I refer that Hero statement to the Lance guy.
