Part 1 of 2: I used Loctite epoxy putty to make a removable frame to hold a wide angle lens on a Kodak Zi8 video camera. I used epoxy, because it is not affected by heat as much as the moldable plastic you can buy online. I did not glue anything directly to the camera, nor did I have to take it apart to add a magnetic ring like a popular lens mod from china, so no warranty was voided and no damage occured to the camera.

  • YOU KNOW THEY SELL MAGNETIC LENSES? THAT WORK ON THE KODAK TOO?

  • @Proclamationprod Yes. I also have many magnetic lenses. I made the adapter, because it lets me use other lenses too. Also, the adapter lets me use my light filters.and fish eye lens. Some people said the magnetic lens makes the color a little yellow in some light. I can use more expensive lenses with an adapter.

  • you mean that you wouldn't recommend this camera ? please respond

  • @realjuvelive What are you talking about? Which camera? Are you referring to the video or the discussion about the flip? I dint want a flip, because there is no external microphone jack. Other people might not need it. I like the Kodak.

  • @jykazu I"M TALIKING ABOUUUUUT !!!!!! the lens it's removable why ????????

  • @realjuvelive Please explain how recommending the camera and a home made removable lens is related? I would recommend this camera regardless of the lens being removable. Also, any camera can have a removable lens adapter. You phrase your original question in the negative. Is there some point about making a removable lens that makes you think I am not recommending the camera? The video is not about recommending or not recommending a camera. The video is about how to make a lens adapter bracket.

  • @realjuvelive Again. I don't understand why you ask. You are asking why is it removable now, but before you ask if I do not recommend the camera. So to answer your question, it is removable, because I did not want to glue or stick anything to my camera. I am using a different lens, becaise it is a wide angle and I also have colow filters that do not fit this camera. I needed to make an adapter. I can't take time to answer anymore questions,The answers are in the video and in the description.

  • @Proclamationprod where can i find this adapter

  • genial :D

  • I will pay cash money for one if you make me one of those things

  • hi! where did you buy this lens MOD?

  • very ingenious. When I started looking into Zi8 the other day, I saw the wide angle thing on ebay for $15.00. But, crapped at the idea of gluing something onto the camera. A gripper occured to me. Using styrene plastic which can be heated to bend around. Or, an old wire hanger which of course only requires a bit bending. I have not yet talked myself into buying a Zi8. I am still catching quick clips on an HTC 8529 phone. Not pretty at all.

  • @jykazu Very cool. I think I will try to build one for my Kodak Playsport in nearly the same way. I'm shopping around for a wide angle lens with screw on caps... by chance is your lens made by Digital Concepts? amazon.com/dp/B001ELQTTA/

  • @Proclamationprod They are not as good
