"This isn't going to be a huge savings to government."

The little things add up, especially when they're an on-going expense. EG: a new car costing $20k, but using it for 5 years, sounds like a huge expense. But, it is miniscule vs. spending $400 a week on-going for groceries. $400 x 4wks x 12mo's x 5 years = $96,000! If you can reduce the cost to just $300/wk, that's $72,000, a savings of $24,000 over 5 years! Little things add up. If you can reduce their cost, you increase long-term savings.

I just thinking about the same thing: possible kidnappings I had heard about.

It's due to people went overseas and maybe they owe "their kings" ..since they became loyal to other countries, a certain no. of people to go back with them.

It could also mean we would all be going to war & so where do the people belong. I am United States. That is the reason for "going back to old countries ideation" that had occurred in the public masses of people a few years back.

Even Canada cd be at war w/us.

People don't seem to understand the fact that Obama didn't choose to talk about pennies here. The question was brought up in a kind of open forum by John Green, notorious (and rightful) hater of the penny. So for everyone like, "Oh he's trying to evade focusing on [insert issue here]"... no. He was answering a question. And while pennies might not be a big factor in our economy by any stretch of the imagination, they are still needlessly wasteful and it is pretty ridiculous we still use them.
