* the windows version is in alpha testing at this moment and a beta version is going to be real soon now
* yes, just like an electric guitar, a synth, ... it needs amplification to be heard
* the drums are just the built-in loops, I didn't mess around with them, but you can and other players are doing it

BTW - it will only work on a MAC. It's not Windows compatible and you still need to hook it up to your stereo or guitar amp to get any kind of decent sound. The drums sound cheesy.The Alpha = $5600 is way too expensive for this toy. I wouldn't call it portable either. You need a computer at all times to hear anything.Does it have a spit valve? Where does the condensed breath water accumulate?? Horn players will know what I'm talking about. Nice job on the demo!

* I've ordered an Alpha and I personally don't find it expensive, I've never felt this way about an instrument before and I've played quite a few guitars, pianos and synths
* the Pico is extremely portable, I've played music on airplanes, trains, ... with just a laptop and earplugs
* the spit goes all the way through the body
