John really did quit; there had been rumors going around for about a week beforehand, and then he announced it officially.

John has officially quit the band as of 12/17/09. He said there was no animosity and that his music was going in a different directioin, he told the band of his decision on their hiatus a couple years ago. End of an era...

Long ago this young hot girl wouldn't have sex w/me because I told her I didn't like RHCPs, but, at the time I never even heard of them. Ultimate irony, I really do like their music once I'd heard it later on. Messed up.

im reading these dumbass comments about how the peppers changed their style and sold out?
john frusciante left the band and almost died from a heroin addiction, and that changed the way he looked a music, life, and anything for that matter....meanwhile the peppers were about to breakup after firing dave navvaro after their one hot minute tour.
What changed the peppers is time. they didn't sell out, they became different people through near death experiences, and became wisemen in the process.

i love this song. it sounds so different than the other blood sugar jams. it's the mellower chili peppers.
