Thanks for your troubles in making this. I just bought a Streak used for $150. I'll keep this video handy in case I ever need it. I work construction so who knows if even Gorilla class will hold up. I'm bought a 2 dollar screen protector off Ebay.. hopefully that will help a bit to keep it safe too.

I just replaced the screen. dear god it was so difficult. and guess what, the replacement had some damaged pixels. its in the corner of the screen though and its still much better than it was before.

Great Video. Got my replacement screen today and was able to follow along without any major issue. Very helpful for sure. It made it much easier than I thought it was going to be. BTW, I got mine from a company called Gadgettown on Ebay. Was around $29.00 and was packed very well. Interestingly, when it came in, the packaging was from TMART which if you go to their website directly, the price is $58.00

awesome video man, this helped me finish my phone, my only problem was the damn power botton but ended up being the plastic was a bit bent from not using the correct tool, i just bent it back and fixed it, THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!

@31337h0r4x Put your face closer to your screen. Closer. There. Now stay there. Better? Knew it. Enjoy!

I tried to do this and everything went very well except the screen touch is unresponsive? I restored it but still didn't work!! I double checked the connections and I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anything - perhaps the new screen was defective but how could I prove that?
BTW I bought the screen from an Ebay store from Hong Kong and it included the tools - no gloves though.

@sharphighdefinition I've done this a few times, and the only time it failed is when I didn't reconnect the video connector all the way. There's not much to the connectors beyond the 'click' into place. I'd be leaning towards a defective unit if you're sure you've done it right. I recommend getting the parts stateside if you're US based, that way the shipping/timing isn't too lengthy. Good luck!
