Oh, and it's not a catback system. does it matter performance wise? does a catback system perform better than this setup?
-
@sctm81 The 2.50 is a total volume of roughly 5 inches. In a true dual format such as this there would be a substantial loss of power and torque. The 2.25 used is the exact size used on the 5.7 liter V/8 OEM dual-more than large enough for a V/6 system.

why was this chosen over the 2.5 system?

Is that a sale everything I have looked at is at least twice the price and the tips look like shit .

It may be best to have it tuned if you go with a true dual. I heard many that do this loose power below 3k. After it has been set up you wont notice any flat spots with a slow roll on. I have a single 40 series going into a y out and people ask me if its an 8

@scoobydoob1e As long as one uses proper diameter tubing combined with an accurately placed X-pipe, the car will see general increases at all power band levels. Unfortunately very few exhaust centers use proper X-pipes and usually oversize the pipes in the system. (what we see most of the time is undescribable) We correct many a poorly done systems and have yet to see any power losses or performance drop offs with the method of fabrication shown in this video. Glad your set up is doing well.

@kirkrob0412 The super 44 true dual catback sounds a lot better. how would you think a fabricated true dual catback featuring 2 flowmaster 10 mufflers, true magnaflow x-pipe and resonator delete will sound?

@BLACKMAMBA52588 My first feeling is that it would be very aggressive and usually with V/6 applications we have found that aggressive is often accompanied by harsh and raspy notes. I tend to prefer lower, smoother and deep types of tones from V/6 as well as four cylinder vehicles. This unfortunately seems to be the more difficult tone levels to achieve.

current 50 series Flowmaster for v6 is 2.50 single in dual out. does that mean it is losing power?

@sctm81 Your talking about a single muffler with dual outlets. Making this an inaccurate comparison. This custom built (cat-back) system is a true dual that features two mufflers, not one. If you look closely at the video, (Pause it if need be) you will see the two pipes entering into the X-pipe then continue back into the two mufflers, afterwards exiting out the rear. This is a conventional true dual much like that of the ones for the V/8 applications.
