Chinese students will continue to outperform American students academically regardless of the amount of money that The United States Government throws at the Educational System.
The family structure of the Chinese is far more intact than the American family structure.
Without a strong family structure - there can not be a strong Educational System!

Yws = you are CORRECT but Chinese public educational school system is soooooooooooooo clearly superior to the US educational school system. The USA is wayyyyyy behind when it comes to K-12 education - sorry to say. If you have any doubts about this, go to China a see first hand for yourself !!!!

Wow - I am sorry that you had such awful experiences with the Chinese. Personally, I have met many Chinese and I was very impressed with their work ethic, intelligence and tenacity!

You might want to go to China and see what is going on there.

Remember - China is the world manufacturer, the world banker, has one of the worlds greatest public school education systems and in a short time will have the worlds greatest military. I would say the Chinese are doing pretty damn well!

The Chinese are not perfect but they really value in "education" and have a "great" work ethic. I can not say this same thing about the people in the US.

You need to get "real" and get over to China and see what is going on. Also, I would like to recommend a book that you need to read" That Used to Be Us" by Tom Friedman.

After reading your email, I would bet that you have never been to China nor do you really understand what is going on in China.

I had a chinese engineer work for me for years. She had a MSEE like me. She was as dumb as a post. She knew no engineering. I ended up having her do computer drawings. After years of working and going to school with many chinese, I found them all to be devious, backstabbing, condesending and petty. They were all socially inept, and had the maturity of a 12 year old in their treatment of other people not of chinese decent. It seems they had both inferiority and superiority complexes at once.

@SunnySunKansas I think she was saying american parents didn't show up to open house but chinese parents did since they were asking her about her experience of teaching in the USA.
