This the 3rd annual benefit concert "Body and Soul - Tango Passion" organized by Margaret Maye for the University of Toronto epilepsy research program as covered on Citytv Polish studio. The concert featured Quartango, Argentian tango dancers Roxana and Fabian Belmonte and Margaret Maye. Margaret has also recently co-founded www.epilepsycureinitiative.com
"Body and Soul - Tango Passion" was a feast of sight and sound, a perfect harmony of melody and movement.
Spirited music, sizzling tangos that drawed on classical works, jazz standards, Celtic melodies and popular tunes provided the setting for intricate, sensual dance steps and terpsichorean pyrotechnics. Jalousie, Milonga, Oblivion, Por una cabeza; Classic Tango, Tango Nuevo, music by Piazzolla, Petersburski and others. Quartango consists of Doug Schmidt, Richard Hunt, Stephane Aubin, Rene Gosselin and Charles Etienne Marchand.

  • Not only is Margaret's singing (as usual) astounding, the dancing thrilling, the musicians exciting and the setting classical, but also, Margaret is doing great humanitarian work with this life long endeavour to fight epilepsy face to face and bring it to the attention of the world in general.

  • The concert was amazing, Margaret was outstanding, Quartango's music was out of this world and the dancers were exceptional. I can't wait for the next one.
