This helmet camera video is of a cycling race in the middle of downtown San Luis Obispo, Ca on August 12th, 2007. You're riding with the Pro/1/2 field racing for 90 minutes with an overall average speed of 27+ mph. There was a slight breeze with the tailwind on the finishing stretch.
The road was bumpy which directly affected the ATC2k helmet camera video so just try to look through the bumpiness.
Info about myself:
I'm a recent Cat 2 upgrade on Cycling Science. It's my second attempt using the Oregon Scientific ATC2k helmet camera in a race. It's positioned on top of my helmet, but my helmet slid down near the end of the race. Also, at some points the camera is a little off since I can't focus on my head position during the entire race. However, I did edit out a few parts that didn't show well.
Hope you enjoy, thanks for watching and please let me know what you think!

P.S. Special thanks to everyone out there who cheered for the "Helmet Cam Guy!" in some form or another. It truely was motivating!
cool thanks very much, hey what is the music by the way, good cycling song???

The song at the begining is titled "Impend" from Halo 2 soundtrack. The second song is "Under Cover of Night" from the orignial Halo Soundtrack.
I find that some game musics (like racing and others) tend to fit the bill for cycling videos. Of course, unless it's perfect for what I want to do, usually it's just whatever song I like that also flows well with the tone of video.
Thanks for watching!

do you have to be pro to race in this or can anyone sign up?

It's based on your category. If your new to bike racing your category is called "Cat 5" Anyone can just show up and race if they have the proper equipement (racing license [you can buy a one-day], helmet, clippless pedals, road bike, and I'm not sure about the jersey/bib shorts though).
As you race you can get points for top places and upgrade to a higher category. The categories go from Cat 5 - Cat 1 and then if your hired from a pro team then your Pro, but you must be Cat 1 to be hired.
