In Silverton Colorado they are making rum. I know you have never thought of the rum coming from the mountains of Colorado but with the help of clean mountain water and some high altitude aging they are not only making rum they are making really good rum. Come with us on a quick tour of their facility. After that get in the car and drive on over to Silverton to have a few drinks with them. Make sure you book your hotel room before you go for drinks.

Just clarifying, methanol and acetone are not acids, and they are not "heavy". In relation to the distillate they would be considered lighter, a lighter alcohol (methanol) and ketone (acetone). Their lower boiling points are what allow them to boil off during the beginning of the distilllation. Its also best to adjust your condensor cooling flow so the distillate comes off at about room temp to allow the distillate to breath, helps with harshness.

Maaaaaaaaaaan.... Nice still but they should use ice water... My alcohol comes out ice cold ready to drink right of the flake stand.. 190 proof .. Then cut to 100 proof with distiller water... And the reason you don't want the head is because it has all the heavy acids like acetone methanol and other toxins... It's best to have it vented off or incinerated... Some keep it to wash paint and grease off floors... Helpful hint.. Toss cinnamon stix into your alcohol before proofing it and get a nice

Not sure what, but I do believe there is a problem with the video.
