University of Michigan Fight Song on Copper Pipes

I had to make an instrument for science class and I made this copper pipe xylophone. I decided to play the University of Michigan fight song "The Victors" because I did not want to play a common song like "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and because I want to go there someday. The funny thing is that I got a 100%, even though the teacher was a Michigan State fan! Notice the maize and blue felt.

nice! i have to make an instrument too, that plays mary had a little lamb (using A4, B4, G4, D5). how do u know how long or short the copper pipe is suppose to be? can you help me out? -_- my project is due next week, and i have NOTHING!

I used these measures for the pipes: 8", 7-1/2", 7-1/8", 6-7/8", 6-1/2", 6-1/8", 5-3/4" and 5-1/2". I found them by searching google and it was a DIY site about 2 down.For the base, i recommend coating the wood in felt because it gives the pipes a nice ring.I made this project in one day (with a little help from my dad), so u have plenty of time if u know what ur doing.There are tons of sites on the internet that tell u how to make them if u need help with the design of the base.Good Luck!
