Star Wars X-Wing "Retaliation" (by Ryan Gallion -- 2006)

Star Wars fan film "Retaliation" (of X-Wings and TIE fighters and blaster battles!)

Ryan has given me permission to share this awesome "test" video project he made some years ago...

During the BOP I days (2005/2006), I ran into Ryan on one of the SW threads. He was looking for vocal work and also some vocal effects to simulate "radio chatter" via "spaceship" to planet and so forth... in the style of X-wings, TIE fighters... planetary bases and that sort of thing.

I was able to convince Ryan that what he needed wouldn't be too tough, and it was a fun project!

Special thanks again to Ryan for giving the go ahead with releasing his fun project online!

We had a bit more "dialogue" that could have made the relationship between Blue Leader & Echo Base a bit more dramatic, but... at the time, Ryan only had so much video, so much time, and all of that!!

That really was awesome. I loved when the Interceptor's pilot flew out. I gotta wonder, what the hell kind of brainless kamikaze maneuver we the left and right pilots trying? Silly clones.

It was great to work with Ryan in every way. I would love to work with him again... we'll see how it goes! Both of us have been really busy, and we just got in contact again via e-mail.

Thanks for all the comments so far, glad people are still enjoying this little project. I made it back in 2005 and premiered on January 1, 2006, can't believe I didn't put it on Youtube for all that time.

I've thought about doing a second one, with some more action, but I've just been too busy...I'll get to it one of these days.

i love it! haha my only complaint is that the tie interceptor was not developed by sienar fleet systems until 3 aby. long after the x-wing was developed. lol

Agreed on THAT, Ryan!  For BOP I and II... we had all SORTS of things going on where costs needed to stay to a bare minimum...

After all... hey... you funded your project entirely on your own... and I was doing the very same thing!!

If I had bought "real" Stormtrooper helms for my five actors, it would have been something like $1500 instead of $150. Not kidding.

It's actually a Chinese (replica) helmet that I used.

It only cost around $40, while the official USAF HGU-55 helmets cost around $300-400...

Naturally it was a pretty easy decision, I can handle having a star on my helmet for $300.
