I don't suppose this eye witness has a name? If authentic, this eye witness is a odds with every other eye witness. That's why it would be nice to have a name.

@IRISHBUDDAFILTH lol, yup. I personally think that's what really got him killed. He was being held in Carthage because he was going to be tried for treason against the USA. He used his Nauvoo Legion to destroy a printing press that printed some secrets about him - like his secret multiple wives. He was likely to be executed anyway as a traitor.
But yeah, that is why nobody answered his cry for help: "Oh Lord my God, is there any help for the widow's son?". The mob was mason, but killed him.
