Hey times changes and improment is needed on the subways. I miss the red birds aswell but atleast we can say we have rode them.

the mta is extremley dumb.these trains are great cars and have a unique look to nyc.i would have at least add 1 redbird to every subway like and i agree with @noreaga12326 the mta need to choke on balls for getting rid of the redbird trains

Wow... I nostalged hard. I like the new cars, but I miss the Redbirds at the same time. There was something that made them so classy. You can still see them occasionally in the Corona Yard.

same here. The reason the redbirds are not in service anymore is because of the bombardier r142 and kawasaki r142a. The last redbird that ran was in the 7 line back in 2003.

I remember seeing these on the 1 line. But the red birds had asbestos and it was cheaper for the mta to have them dumped in the ocean.

i dont know why the MTA discontinued the Red Birds. Those were pretty good cars. Whoevers in charge of the MTA can choke on balls.
