Inclusive Community Action Rehabilitation for Education (of children with disabilities) is an initiative of the Philippine Council of Cheshire Homes (PhilCOCHED) - a member of the Leonard Cheshire International Global Alliance.
This short video shows Rosa a child who is a target of the ICARE project volunteers and for whom the procurement of a correctly sized wheelchair of a suitable type for the terrain of her community setting helped her to realise her dream of going to school.
This project relies heavily on the good will of the volunteers of the ICARE project, however funds are required to ensure the continued education of these volunteers in disability matters as well as to help fund the items of assistive technology that may be required, items such as crutches/walking sticks, appropriate wheelchairs and seating/positioning devices. Funds are also required to facilitate the expansion of this project to other regions of the Philippines and even to other parts of the world.
If you wish to make a donation towards the sustainability and expansion of this project please do so by contacting Richard Arceño of PhilCOCHED at their offices
