Another face of Alzheimer's

This is another side to Alzheimer's! The sufferer loses all their inhibitions, love and respect for their once loved ones. Sorry if this is offending to anyone but this is the reality of Alzheimer's and I want to show everyone just exactly the affects it has on the sufferers mind and body. You join the conversation as me and my mum are talking about who my dad is!

I would just like to let everyone know that my beautiful mum passed away. Her illness that took away her mind so long ago, finally caught up with her body. She passed very peacefully and with my dad, me and my sister, and her grandchildren around her. She's now with family that love her just as much as we did...my brother, her mum and dad and her sister. We love you mum and you gave us so many memories, I just hope that memories of you before Alzheimers come to me soon..xxx

I'm glad I'm able to share this as sometimes this side of Alzheimer's goes unnoticed and unspoken about....yet it's happens all too often and is very upsetting for the family .... we have to stay strong though and sometimes mum, makes us laugh, but it's not very often we see her smiling now...xxx

@sambi1968 What goes around comes around!!!!....... I am so happy for you and hope your children forgive you in the same way you forgive your Mum. My father was the kindest fellow before dementia set in and now he makes Victor Meldrew look like sweet Jesus!!!! It is so difficult not to take things personally, but if you can take this kind of abuse in the spirit you have, then so shall I thank you for opening up your heart to us all.

My 93 year old mother is starting to have problems remembering simple names for everyday items like TV remotes or names of old movies she has seen many times. She does out bursts of frustration , too, like this lady. She'll swear she has taken her medicine and gives a description of when she took it though I haven't even prepared it for her for that day. Don't know if it's Alzheimer's, but her doctor, in-home care nurse, and I are monitoring her. Mom is suspicious about her money, too.

this disease is devestating as I see it slowly killing my father. If I ever get it I'll put a gun to my head. no point going through the misery.

Thats so very sad but I think at this moment I wouldn't question her about anything. Asking her for a kiss, asking her who your dad is, and repeatedly asking questions I think is ticking her off. Not an easy job you have there, may God give you strength.
