you are correct, chiinkwan..he can't compete with Colombian vallenato players..and guess what? they couldn't compete with him either! you know why?!..this is an ARTFORM, NOT A SPORT...IT'S MUSIC NOT A SOCCER MATCH

i wish the bajo player would've put in some jazzier chords. in stead of limiting him to a standard blues rotation.

I understand. The bajo player had just accompanied Joel and the workshop participants on Idalia and some other tunes and I think more than anything was surprised that Joel even asked him to accompany him on this improv. Javi actually sings and plays bajo sexto with Ruben Vela.
