@tabber87 Furry Lewis didn't like it.

This Shadows and Light tour closed out the 1970's with unspeakable class. Joni's transition from 60's pop to 70's jazz fusion WAS revolutionary! (Court and Spark, Hissing of Summer Lawns, shimmered with brilliance)
The Persuasions,Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker, all pioneers, all enthusiastically backing Joni. A sweeter concert would be a rare thing.

Who was tasteless fuck who disliked this?

Joni Mitchell is a tourist.
FURRY LEWIS LIVES.

Joni, Jaco, and Pat...What a GREAT collaboration of musical geniuses!
-
Pat Metheny as an extra angel thrown in..... freakin' sweet.

Joni never lied!

@jmeredith44 you really hit it. it's a long time favorite of mine for that reason.

The guy who used to say "Oblah dee oblah da life goes on, bra" sued the Beatles. What the hey. Joni's song - the Windfall - about getting exploited by a housekeeper or Kato Kaolin type is pretty funny.

I've been kicked off Beale st. for busking, it's all corporatized, nothing real anymore. Furry made his own legacy.

Her observations of the landmarks of Beale St. and its slow death is dead on. It is struggling to make some what of a come back but the real quintessence of the street has been lost forever.
