Code Geass was one of the first anime where i was truly sad when something happened to a character i liked, and very happy when some douche character got his/her ass kicked!

I have to agree with you completely. Code Geass is an amazing anime, and should be recognized, but it is at some points its very mind involving. The plot does get thick, and things get pretty complicated, so it makes sense that the mainstream anime audience dont exactly like it. Its also soooooo similiar to Deathnote in many ways, and thats yet another amazing series that IMO EVERYONE should watch through.

Light's an absolute douchebag compared to Lelouche.There's no comparrison, whatsoever.
You really should try to catch the 2nd season of Code Geass if you can. It's really awesome, and the final episode is just beautiful.

Yeah, I plan to. I'm actually about a fourth through it. I'm still enjoying it although a friend of mine tells me that most people kind of hated it... not sure why though.
