I remember watching this, and, when it ended, I knew that they were meant to be. Hopefully they'll think so in the near future. Fingers crossed!!!

@cheluzal Nah, nah, he didn't start going easy on her till after week 5... when the judges told her that they admired her ambition, but the dance was clearly beyond her skill and the performance suffered because of it. Derek started going easy on her after that, and the rest is history.

@iamkatiedancer I'm inclined to agree, and I think that's why I always ship Maks. Even if he dates or hooks up or whatever with his partner, he will NOT let it affect the performance he wants.

@hodg1fesoreto Shannon was better at ballroom than latin. All her latin dances were mediocre. I thought her quickstep, V. Waltz, and Tango were all incredible. This was her best dance. Her worst was probably the samba, yikes!!!

@hodg1fesoreto Their tango was okay, and decently performed, but it was very evident that Derek made the choreography easier than he should have. Watch the package from Shannon's tango...what was that she said at 1:06 (on AlChamp08's video) about Derek "going home alone tonight"? She didn't want the challenge, and unfortunately, Derek catered to her. Every dance after week 4, no matter how decent, could have been FAR better.

@cheluzal Agreed. He has never not challenged any of his partners, except Shannon, and I'm convinced he went easy on her to keep things smooth in their relationship.

This was the last good dance they did. Everything after this one was sort of...mediocre. Derek didn't push Shannon nearly as much as he could have, and he didn't choreograph to his usual standard either.
This was the last, and, really, only dance they did that I liked.
