Today I worked a bit more on the rhythms for a new Andreas & jag song called "at best".

When we started recording I was really pleased with how the drums worked but I just got more and more annoyed with them...So ina weird attempt to save them I distorted them and filtered them through the wonderful Sherman Filterbank. This sort of worked. Then I tried taking the drums out altogether and then make a small rhythm with the Compurhythm CR-78...then I did treatments on that and then I started cutting up and bits and pieces of the sherman filterbank drums...and then I treated that...

It has been a rhythmic and slightly weird day.

For more informatuion about the studio where all of this was recorded...please stroll by the old yet effective www.roth-handle.nu

  • Sorry for the typos. Damn small mobile phone keyboards... ;)

  • Hey Roth I've been watching all of your vids and I'm often curious at how the final result has turned out. Why don't you mntion th track titl and album in the Info section?

  • look around.

    AK-momo

    Nanook of the North

    The opium Cartel

    Gösta berlings saga

    Pineforest Crunch

    Vijaya

    Two times the trauma

are some of the projects I can think of...

  • I havve never heard the v1 sound the same way twice so I would imagine comparing the two being slightly difficult.

One of my favorite moments was sending a bongo line through it for a Opium Cartel song. It was a little thing at the start of every two bars and it went throughouit a fairly long song and the cool thing is of course that they never sounded the same...The loop changed throughout.

  • great studio by the way an where i can (ofcourse illegaly) down load your music iv became curious

  • well the v1 should be alot noisyer/distorting then the v2 never heard a v2 in real life actualy so its only what i heard. so the people didnt lie to the swedish nerd. lol actualy there are lots of people who prefer the v2 over the v1 cause it has less distortion. any way the amount distortion can be controlled with the input/gain so idont really see the advantage in a v2 over a v1 (exept for the extra featuress in a v2 ofcourse :P)

  • Yeah...Ive got one of the first too...It probably doesnt matter but the thing that sold it to me was when people said that the first revision distorted too much....1,2,3 and....sold to the swedish nerd in the back..

I need to integrate it more with the other modular stuff...but there is time...

  • i have the first version one of the first batches produced actualy (not that that matters it sounds like any other version1) cant wait to hook it up to my other gear again

  • Thats great...

Which model have you got ?

  • haha yes it does.

gonna get my sherman back saterday.

    joy!
